Global Running Day 6/2 | How To Find Your Stride

What: Global Running Day

Why: Global Running Day is a day dedicated to celebrating the sport of running! It is held annually on the first Wednesday of June. Formally known as National Running Day, the first event was held in 2009, with the inaugural Global Running Day being held June 1, 2016. It is a great way to kick start your running, get back into running, support a charity or organization, or simply get some miles in because you love running!

When: June 2, 2021

Where: Anywhere in the world!

How: Participants of all ages and abilities pledge to take part in some type of running activity by submitting their names through the Global Running Day website.

If you would like to join something local, here are a few that we suggest:

-Charlotte Running Club, June 2nd at 6:30 pm, 3 & 5 mile options

Pizza Peel Run Club at Cotswold

-NoDa Brewing Run Club, June 2nd at 6:30 pm, 3 & 5 mile options

2921 N Tryon Street, Charlotte NC 28205

-RunningWorks Virtual 12 Hour Run To End Homelessness, June 2, anytime during the day. All proceeds go directly to RunningWorks, a non profit that provides outreach and social services for Charlotte’s homeless community. Donations and registration can be done at the following link:

Virtual events we suggest:

-Lululemon Virtual Global Running Day Strava Challenge. June 2, Anytime during the day, complete at least 10 minutes of run, walk, or wheelchair activity.

-New York Road Runners (NYRR) Virtual Global Running Day 1 Mile powered by Strava. June 1-6, complete at least 1 mile.
